Welcome to SustainBridge Lab (“SustainBridge,” “we,” “our,” or “us”).
By accessing or using our website and programs, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions.

If you do not agree with these terms, please do not use our website or participate in our programs.

1. Organization Status

SustainBridge Lab is an independent nonprofit organization dedicated to education, research exchange, and leadership development.

We are not a degree-granting institution and do not confer academic credit unless explicitly stated in writing.

Participation in our programs does not constitute enrollment at any university unless otherwise specified in a separate written agreement.

2. Use of Website

You agree to:

  • Use this website only for lawful purposes

  • Not copy, reproduce, or distribute our content without written permission

  • Not attempt to disrupt website functionality or security

All content on this website, including text, graphics, logos, program materials, and branding, is the intellectual property of SustainBridge Lab unless otherwise noted.

3. Program Applications & Participation

Submission of an application does not guarantee acceptance.

We reserve the right to:

  • Accept or decline applicants at our sole discretion

  • Modify program schedules, speakers, locations, or curriculum if necessary

  • Cancel or postpone programs due to unforeseen circumstances (including but not limited to safety, compliance, weather, or institutional policies)

Participants are responsible for:

  • Obtaining required visas and travel documents

  • Maintaining appropriate health and travel insurance

  • Complying with local laws and host institution policies

4. Fees & Payments

Program fees must be paid according to the schedule provided in your acceptance letter.

All payments are non-refundable unless otherwise stated in a written agreement.

If a participant withdraws before program completion, refund policies will follow the specific program agreement.

5. Code of Conduct

All participants are expected to:

  • Behave respectfully toward faculty, staff, and fellow participants

  • Follow host institution rules and local laws

  • Maintain professional and ethical conduct

We reserve the right to remove any participant whose behavior is deemed unsafe, disruptive, or inappropriate. No refund will be issued in such cases.

6. Assumption of Risk

Participation in in-person programs may involve travel, site visits, and physical movement.

By participating, you acknowledge and accept any inherent risks associated with travel and program activities.

Participants are responsible for their own health and safety.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

SustainBridge Lab shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from participation in our programs or use of our website.

Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid for the specific program.

8. Third-Party Institutions

Some programs may include visits to universities, companies, or research institutions.

SustainBridge Lab is an independent organization and is not responsible for policies, decisions, or actions of third-party institutions.

9. Intellectual Property & Media Release

By participating in our programs, you grant SustainBridge Lab permission to use photographs or video recordings for educational and promotional purposes, unless you opt out in writing prior to the program.

10. Privacy

We respect your privacy. Personal information collected through this website or program applications will be used solely for program administration and communication purposes.

We do not sell personal data to third parties.

11. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States.

12. Modifications

We reserve the right to update these Terms & Conditions at any time. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
